OwnVector ("we", "our", "us") operates the OwnVector mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our App.

2. Information We Collect

We collect minimal data. The App is designed to work without requiring you to create an account or provide personal information.

• URLs you scan — stored locally on your device to show scan history. Not sent to our servers unless you use features that require backend processing (e.g., site crawling, monitoring, AI explanations).
• Anonymous device identifier — a random ID generated by RevenueCat (our payment provider) to manage your subscription. This ID cannot be used to identify you personally.
• Scan results — SEO audit data is generated on your device. If you use paid features that require server processing (including AI-powered explanations, AI Readiness checks, and GEO optimization), scan data is sent to our servers for processing and stored temporarily.
• Device information — device type, OS version, and app version for crash reporting and analytics. Collected via Sentry (error tracking) in anonymized form.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

• Your name, email address, or phone number
• Location data (GPS)
• Contacts, photos, or other personal files
• Browsing history outside the App
• Payment card details (handled entirely by Apple/Google)

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your data on the following legal bases:

• Contract performance — processing necessary to provide the App's services you requested (scanning URLs, generating reports, managing subscriptions).
• Legitimate interest — crash reporting, anonymized analytics to improve the App, and fraud prevention. We balance our interests against your rights and only process data that is strictly necessary.
• Consent — where required, we obtain your consent before processing (e.g., optional analytics sharing in App settings). You can withdraw consent at any time.

5. How We Use Information

• To provide SEO audit reports, AI-powered explanations, and AI Readiness scores for URLs you scan
• To manage your subscription status
• To fix bugs and improve app stability (crash reports)
• To understand general usage patterns (anonymized analytics)

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• RevenueCat — subscription management. Privacy Policy

• OpenAI — AI-powered explanations and AI Readiness analysis. When you use AI features, relevant scan data (page URL, detected issues) is sent to OpenAI for processing. No personal data is included. Privacy Policy

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The App itself does not use cookies. Our website (ownvector.com) does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics scripts. No advertising trackers or pixels are used anywhere.

8. Data Storage and Security

Scan data is primarily stored on your device. Server-side data (for paid features) is stored on encrypted servers hosted by Railway (infrastructure) and MongoDB Atlas (database), both located in the United States. We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption, JWT authentication, and rate limiting.

9. International Data Transfers

If you are located outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States where our servers and third-party providers are located. For users in the EEA, these transfers are conducted under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, ensuring an adequate level of data protection. By using the App, you acknowledge this transfer.

10. Data Retention

Local scan history is stored on your device until you delete it. Server-side scan data is retained for up to 90 days and then automatically deleted. Anonymous analytics data may be retained for up to 12 months.

11. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Delete your local scan history at any time within the App
• Request deletion of any server-side data by contacting us
• Opt out of analytics by disabling data sharing in the App settings

For users in the EEA (GDPR): You have additional rights including the right to access, rectify, port, restrict processing, and erase your data. We will respond to requests within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe your data is being processed unlawfully.

For users in California (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell your personal information.

12. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or on this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
